| WARNING: THIS SITE FEATURES ORIGINAL THINKING...Jim Croce once sang Don't tug on Superman's cape..., which seems like reasonable advice should we not wish to anger the supreme powers. We do have this duality in our culture: the Superman that is the state collective, the leftist call to a politics of meaning managed by the state, the deification of "we're from the government and we'll take care of you" - versus the Superman that celebrates individual freedom, private property, freedom of conscience, free enterprise, and limited government. We humbly take on the latter's mantle and, eschewing the feeble tug, we dare to PULL, in hope of seeing freedom's rescue from the encroaching nanny state. We invite you, dear reader, to come and pull as well... Additionally, if you assume that means that we are unflinching, unquestioning GOP zombies, that would be incorrect. We reject statism in any form and call on individuals in our country to return to the original, classical liberalism of our founders. (We're also passionate about art, photography, cooking, technology, Judeo/Christian values, and satire as unique, individual pursuits of happiness to celebrate.) |
Superman's product of the century (so far):

Oh, please.
EmCee... tell me, you are kidding.
You cannot possibly put this on Obama.
Please.
How is Barrack Hussein Obama related to this?
Tell me you are kidding.
This is a war that has existed for THOUSANDS OF YEARS.
It's theirs.
Not ours.
Not Obama's.It does not concern us.
This situation is just another that we have NO BUSINESS being involved in. One of MANY. Obama has NOTHING to do with this.
I am sad and surprised that you would post this.
Much of what I have read / heard / summarized about this election is that it was "an emotional win"
This seals it.
Those who have kicked and held their breath like little children need to realize that once or twice they get the attention... after that, it is almost too exhausting to throw cold water in their face.
I admire and respect you... but this is a stretch. BIG TIME.

Hi Shell - I didn't say that O! had anything to do with this.
I'm alluding to the fact that (Vice-president elect) Joe Biden commented recently that (now President elect) Obama would be tested - and quickly.
To say that this has nothing to do with us is just isolationist. It has *everything* to do with us and the freedom that we enjoy. We ignore history - especially recent history - at our peril.
The conflict in the Middle East has existed for millenia - and it will continue to exist until time as we know it ends.
But if we refuse to stand against terror it will revisit us on our soil again.
I pray that the new president will stand against it. We're going to find out sooner rather than later.
It isn't the political left, the progressives, Pelosi, Reid that are going to drive our near future - it's going to be reality.
Joe Biden said "gird your loins". Time to.

I have faith. I have intent. I have will.... I am not alone.
Unfortunately, we look like total morons and have acted as total morons.
We haven't protected anyone... not ourselves or any of those we pose to protect.
I am more fearful now than I was on 9 12.
I work with people who devoted their entire life times to this country... by "working with", I mean I change their briefs and feed them (I do love my job... must interject here that I am AMAZINGLY BLESSED). Every day, I walk into that home wondering if person A, B, C or D is still going to be there and if they are not WHERE ARE THEY?
I could give a turd if Iraq is settled, to be quite honest. They made their bed a couple (or more) thousand years ago.
WHY ARE WE SPENDING TRILLIONS (YES, IT'S TRILLIONS) OF DOLLARS there... while our own die... and our own cannot afford aspirin.
?
I am angry, Emcee. I admit it. I am one pissed off, rebellious (considering the norm) little bitch. I watch people come into our residence who are making progress... and then cannot even feed themselves because the funds allotted to their rehabilitation are allocated to building bombs... in Iraq.
I am jaded.
VERY.Tell you what though... I'm tired of being quiet. I'm tired of making excuses for where we are now.
I don't know if Obama will make things better... I do have hope.
... and he is the only person who ran this year that has hope too...
Love.

I *hope* that things get better too. I'm completely open to that happening.
It has just been my long (very long - I'm very old you know) experience that hope is only realized with much work. Usually much more work than we have contemplated.
Intention? Yes. Hope? Yes.
Work? Like our life depends on it. Because it does.
You heard the comments that the Russian President offered today?
