This quote was obviously intended to mean moving toward the right side of the brain (the imaginative) rather than the left (the logical). Show some imagination.

EMCEE: Dear God, when you inspired the writer of Ecclesiastes, you forgot to be imaginative enough for those who think we are a machine (rather than we have a machine) to understand your priceless wisdom. Next time you reveal yourself, keep that in mind, will ya?

Hi,

I'm a Christian and the Presbyterian fellowship with staff from Bryan College (Dayton) has numerous folk who are not crediting the rapture. Please consider the following reasons below and let me know if your blog would be open to candid dialogue or whether your minds are closed to the issue.

Nine Reasons to Reconsider a Pre-trib Rapture

1. It is not clearly taught in Scripture, and when this is so, we can jump to conclusions based on presuppositions.

2. It is contrary to God’s way of dealing throughout history. History supports the Bible, “we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom.” Acts 14:22. Our belief that it won’t happen to us is based on a few texts that could mean something else. Everyone else in history lived through trouble and died with only two exceptions--

3. One exception was Enoch, but he was not raptured to avoid tribulation. The Flood came 669 years later.

4. The only other person who was raptured was Elijah, and he was not raptured to escape trouble. He brought trouble, lived through the drought and faced a showdown of true worship vs false as a model for us, Rev 11:3,6.

5. The “two witnesses” in Rev 11:3,6 are the Old and New Testament embodied in people who have a mature understanding of Scripture and are ready to be the spiritual bride of Christ. After the plagues and vials of Rev 8,9 and 16, we read, “The marriage of the Lamb is come and his wife has made herself ready…the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Rev 19:7,8. “These are they that came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Rev 7:14. History teaches us--no guts, no glory!

6. The rapture is assumed from a text without seeing the context—“Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” Matt 24:41. The assumption is a rapture to heaven, but note a larger picture in a companion passage—“Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, there will the eagles be gathered.” Luke 17:36,37 is an allusion to the dinner of vultures in Rev 19:17. They aren’t taken “up.”

7. “God has not appointed us to wrath” and He can “keep [us] from the hour of temptation that shall come upon all the world” without having to rapture us. He kept Daniel in the lion’s den and three Hebrews in the fiery furnace. When asked about the end of the world, Christ said to understand the book of Daniel. It is a series of life and death issues with no hint of rapture, but it has numerous references to oppression and persecution.

8. When Paul said, “Prove all things,” the standard of proof for the early believers was the Old Testament.
We should challenge anyone believing in a pre-trib rapture to prove that view from the Old Testament!

9. “Broad is the way that leads to destruction.” Matt 7:13. We should suspect popular views, books and movies, the result of which is that people do not read Revelation and are unprepared for what’s coming because they think they will be raptured first.
