WARNING: THIS SITE FEATURES ORIGINAL THINKING...Jim Croce once sang Don't tug on Superman's cape..., which seems like reasonable advice should we not wish to anger the supreme powers. We do have this duality in our culture: the Superman that is the state collective, the leftist call to a politics of meaning managed by the state, the deification of "we're from the government and we'll take care of you" - versus the Superman that celebrates individual freedom, private property, freedom of conscience, free enterprise, and limited government. We humbly take on the latter's mantle and, eschewing the feeble tug, we dare to PULL, in hope of seeing freedom's rescue from the encroaching nanny state. We invite you, dear reader, to come and pull as well... Additionally, if you assume that means that we are unflinching, unquestioning GOP zombies, that would be incorrect. We reject statism in any form and call on individuals in our country to return to the original, classical liberalism of our founders. (We're also passionate about art, photography, cooking, technology, Judeo/Christian values, and satire as unique, individual pursuits of happiness to celebrate.)

WA Governor's Race: GOP 'Driving Media Coverage'
Filed in: Current Affairs, Politics, WA Governor's Race

Gopmachine Fear and loathing from the left: One of the Seattle alternative tree consumers, the Stranger, opines that the GOP is in control of the media and the public in this 'City' piece.

Apparently Larry Phillips has had to enter the witness protection program:

"It's been quite an experience," Phillips says of the Republican barrage. "It's all part of a giant, well-orchestrated campaign. Everyone is singing from exactly the same page."

And Rossi supporters rule the media:

In the last several weeks, supporters of Republican gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi have controlled the airwaves and the headlines...creating a media echo chamber...

And we all dance to Shark's Svengali:

Stefan Sharkansky stresses his independence, but Republican Party stalwarts slaver over his every word...[Details of the election fiasco] (which led to a breathless headline in the P-I last week)--all originated on Sharkansky's blog... Republican Party Chair Chris Vance reads the site...Sharkansky's posts--many built on a base of actual facts, albeit leavened with a heavy dose of partisan spin--immediately get trumpeted not only by Vance, but on conservative radio talk shows like those of fellow KVI hosts Kirby Wilbur and John Carlson."

The result being:

The media barrage has worked: According to a KING 5 poll released on January 3, 56 percent of the public believe Rossi was the real winner of the election. Only 35 percent said the same of Gregoire. And 59 percent of the public supported a revote.

This is, of course, why we've seen so many investigative reports out of the mainstream print media. It's why King 5 has renewed its 6 year old fraud investigation into King County - or at least made its original investigation available to the public. Its' why all of the Washington MSM rush to make available the legal documents that the GOP files in court proceedings and why we see so much insightful analysis from the press. It's why all of the MSM in Washington state have officially come out in support of the revote. No? Is there any reason that all of these things that the Washington MSM has done have been left out of the piece?

Meanwhile, Sandeep collaborates with the ghost of Phillip K. Dick on the latest fashion in nose rings worn by the MSM and the beguiled public for the next installment.

People Pulling

Behold, the power of blogs. I've been a little hesitant about blogger triumphalism regarding the obvious GOP success in convincing the state regarding a revote--but if The Stranger we did it, who am I to argue?

EMCEE: Comforting isn't it Tim? And how are your puppet strings feeling today? Sometimes mine chafe a little, but I'm getting used to them.

#1. As to, "It's why King 5 has renewed its 6 year old fraud investigation into King County - or at least made its original investigation available to the public." - I'd like to know more.

#2. I should post some of the hateful comments I get on and about my blog - one saying I should take medication, another from a Gregocrat who insists upon calling me a "Republican"!!! What, should I grow gray hair and prepare my kenote?

At least I'll be able to say, "no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often than the two" top Gregocrats Christine Gregovych and Paul Berendt!

EMCEE: I was being facetious about the 'new' King 5 investigation. The MSM 'bleed-over' is simply not happening the way the Stranger is suggesting. The public is listening to talk radio and the bloggers - I think it's just a matter of the truth getting past the dearth of coverage.

And, you are kind of a Republican - and I mean that in a very good way. Otherwise, don't let the trolls get you down my friend.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. You had me going there...

The trolls don't really bother me - they just are dim-wits!
