WARNING: THIS SITE FEATURES ORIGINAL THINKING...Jim Croce once sang Don't tug on Superman's cape..., which seems like reasonable advice should we not wish to anger the supreme powers. We do have this duality in our culture: the Superman that is the state collective, the leftist call to a politics of meaning managed by the state, the deification of "we're from the government and we'll take care of you" - versus the Superman that celebrates individual freedom, private property, freedom of conscience, free enterprise, and limited government. We humbly take on the latter's mantle and, eschewing the feeble tug, we dare to PULL, in hope of seeing freedom's rescue from the encroaching nanny state. We invite you, dear reader, to come and pull as well... Additionally, if you assume that means that we are unflinching, unquestioning GOP zombies, that would be incorrect. We reject statism in any form and call on individuals in our country to return to the original, classical liberalism of our founders. (We're also passionate about art, photography, cooking, technology, Judeo/Christian values, and satire as unique, individual pursuits of happiness to celebrate.)

WA Governor's Race: Would Chernenko allow a no confidence vote? How about it Rob?
Filed in: Current Affairs, Politics, WA Governor's Race

Friend Dinocrat Josef blog scooped the story of the no-confidence on Dean Logan motion brought by King County (Republican) Councilman Reagan Dunn yesterday.

Shark followed up as well.

Did anyone anywhere really think that Larry Phillips - Council Chair - at the center of controversy in the election fiasco - would actually allow a no-confidence vote? He has already proven exactly what he would do in any council meeting.

No one in any position of authority in King County will do anything about the election fiasco.

There is significant discussion going on about whether Dunn is grandstanding and whether there is political positioning occurring. I don't know - it appears from Dunn's motion that he and Steve Hammond are at least on the same page regarding Logan.

Whether this is grandstanding or not - there is now this public document - that reads rather like an indictment - that should take on a life of its own. And Dunn seems to have proven that after a rather long period he has finally got some. Since no one at King County will act on this it is now incumbent on the highest legal recourse in the state to take action.

Though there is really no public complaint mechanism other than dealing with a lemon vehicle or getting duped in a financial scheme on the Washington State Attorney General's web site, its Mission Statement contains the clause "ensuring the fair and open exercise of government".

Attorney General Mckenna: The scurrilous, incompetent, and fraudlulent activities of the election officials and elected officials in King County are clearly in public view. They have trampled the "fair and open exercise of government" and have trumped "advancing the public interest". There is now at least one public document that asserts multiple instances of breaking the law and unethical conduct on the part of election officials. That there is no action forthcoming by elected officials in King County signals the pervasive corruption that exists. A full investigation by your office is required with resulting prosecutions. It is in the public interest that you do so. How about it Rob?
